Teacher Appreciation — We Love Our Teachers!

To celebrate and acknowledge all the hard work and dedication teachers pour into our students both in and out of the classroom, we held a special giveaway just for them during Teacher Appreciation Week in May of 2020.

I would like to nominate Jesse White of the educational nonprofit We Are FARMily. Jesse is the lead for the Making and Outdoor Education areas of programming for 9th-12th graders and makes everything from everything from project design, to circuitry and coding, to utilizing power tools to complete builds approachable and highly enjoyable. When students shared concerns about not being able to continue in-person programming during the stay-at-home order when they felt they needed to increase the skills and knowledge they learn through their experiences with We Are FARMily, Jesse immediately began developing distance programming kits which include projects that continue to develop these skills from the safety of their homes. Now their weekly delivery is the highlight of the students week and he often receives photos and/or videos of project progress before he even gets back home! Jesse meets EVERY student where they are and empowers them to be successful in any challenge they tackle through We Are FARMily’s programming.

He teaches Middle School/High School STEM, Advance Placement Computer Science, Middle School Intro to Coding, High School Intro to Computer Science, and 7th grade Science at Vision Charter School in Caldwell. This man wears many hats at our school and we are lucky to have him on our staff! Not only does he go out of his way to help his peers be successful, he also makes learning a ton of fun for the kids. During this COVID Crisis time, he uses his free time to use his 3-D Printer to make ear guards for face masks to donate to our local hospitals. Way to go Casey Boothby!
