The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
The test on safety and aeronautical knowledge for recreational drone pilots is finally here! After an extended period of public review, in June 2021 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released this long-awaited measure to ensure the safety of everyone sharing the US airspace.
What you need to know about The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST):
- It's free.
- It's open to drone pilots of all ages.
- The Certificate of Completion has no expiration date.
- It takes about 30 minutes to complete the training and test.
- The FAA has approved 16 test administrators, including our long-time partner UAV Coach.
Who Needs to Take the Test:
- Anyone flying drones outside who is not covered by a Part 107 Remote Pilot License.
The good news is that the questions on TRUST should feel familiar to graduates of Droneology and Droneology Jr, the online courses included in our Discover Drones and Ready, Set, Drone! education programs. If you're the owner of one of these courses, you can view fully updated content by simply signing into your existing account.
